Good Antivirus & Firewall needed

I need 1 good antivirus & 1 Good Firewall for my PC
For my Home PC's
My Machine is
800Mhz PIII, 256MB RAM, 40GB HDD

another is
2.8Ghz, 256MB RAM, 80GB HDD

Currently i was using norton system works its working fine till date
but now it has expiry

as u can imagine speed of both of my PC's
so pls tell me
Now i need a good antivirus & also one good firewall

Pls tell me wht should i do

had anyone tried mcafee 2007 that came with this months digit CD
is it good to install.................?

McAfee needs more system resources. Hence needs a high configuration PC.
I suggest the following for your system configuration:

Antivirus: avast! Home edition (Freeware). It also comes with in-built network shield.
Antispyware: Windows Defender or Spybot 'Search & Destroy'
Firewall: Zone alarm Pro

Firewall is essential if the PC is connected to internet most of the time. For normal circumstances, avast's inbuilt webshield + free firewall (zone alarm free version) will do.

You do need a FireWall, because, if a Trojan is present in your system (not detected by AV), the Firewall help out, notifying you that so & so process is trying to access the web, which you can terminate the access.

if you're willing to pay for those, then get
=>Kaspersky Internet Security.
=>ZoneAlarm Pro (it has a good Anti-Spyware).

this is one of the best AV+Firewall Combo.

Antivirus:Avast! Home Edition
