Just wanted to game smoothly at 1440p with all the bells and whistles. Below is my requirement :
. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Main purpose would be play latest games properly on mid or high settings at 1440p and 144hz.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 2lakh. I can't spend more than this.
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: windows 10 pro
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 2TB should be fine, as i have a couple of hard disks. But most importantly i want to add an SSD for installing OS and other important softwares.
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes. a good quality 1440p 27 inch, 144HZ IPS panel.
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Mouse, Keyboard
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: By end of this month
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: No.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Mumbai
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I'm looking for a Ryzen build. Just had a look at some of the shops in Lamington Road a few days back.
I got the following quotes from various dealers.
AMD R7 1700 - 24500
ASUS PRIME B350 PLUS - 8000
Kingston Hyperx 3200 MHZ 8gbx2 Kit - 9500
Seagate 2TB - 5000
Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB - 7000
ZOTAC 1080 Ti AMP! Edition - 59500
Corsair 200R - 4100
Seasonic S12II 620W - 6400
Acer XB271HU - 67500
HyperX Cloud Core - 3700
I got these prices from the following shops.
PrimeABGB
Computer Selection
PC Guide
MCCANN
MAC IT
Neo Dynamics.
Basically these guys quoted in and around this price.
I also got prices for the following additional.
ASUS PG279Q - 71000
Deepcool Dukase V3 - 5000
Deepcool Kendomen - 4800
Kingston Hyper X 2400MHZ 8gbx2 - 8900
MSI 1080 Ti Armor edition - 61500
ZOTAC 1080Ti Founders Edition - 58000
Now there are 2 problems, The Acer Monitor will take about 5 to 6 weeks to be delivered (Confirmed by PrimeABGB)
The ASUS monitor will take about 5 to 6 days and the deepcool cases will take about 2 weeks to be delivered.
So I have a few questions, is this a good enough build in terms of dollar to FPS @ 1440P are there better options than this? Also, keep in mind that I won't be overclocking this at all. Main uses for this build will be Gaming and some VMWARE work.
