1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:the computer is gonna be used mainly for playing high end games like shadow of mordor

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:from 1 lack to 1.5 lacks

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:not really

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:1tb minimum


6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: a 1080p led monitor 25-26"


7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:i want to buy all the components


8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:9th or 10th april 2015

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:i live in gurgaon near delhi i will prefer buying locally but if needed i can buy online

SSD get 256gb samsung evo 850
games these days are 40gb..so you will need it. if you plan to play more than 1 game at a time.
i have 256, its not acutally enough after installing all the software..

ssd is a must for OS drive..and games you play often. or games like WoW
media you can store them on 1tb drive.

OP - Don't get a K model Processor since you are not overclocking. Getting a i7 processor over a i5 processor will not help you with increased Gaming performance, they will perform the same in almost all the games.
Instead spend more on monitor, graphics card and SSD. The SSD needs to be at-least 30% empty to give optimal performance. The GTA V is at 56 GB, so go figure.

I would like to add a word to help in build of PC. Overall, I like your PC build and its all compatible to each other and easily fit in case, but I also noticed that you choose an Intel i7 4770k CPU. As far as I know, it’s a for OC, if you are not planing to do the OC, then there is no need for K series CPU. The Intel Xeon CPU will fulfill your requirements.

As mentioned by [MENTION=25969]a_k_s_h_a_y[/MENTION], the SSD is must for high end rig and I agree with him. For your information the SSD use as the OS/Boot drive or storage drive. It all depends on your budget. SSD is expensive, however, they are worth every penny. The difference between Samsung 850 Evo and 850 pro are in terms of performance and technology. The biggest difference that I can find though, between Samsung 850 Pro and Evo is the warranty.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have increased my budget to 1.5 lakhs, with an additional 10k in reserve. Based on your valuable inputs, I have modified my rig as follows:

2. CM Storm Trooper - I am still unsure about Mid/Full Tower. This is just one that i liked on SMC's website, hence have written it here. Would love to have your advice on this/others similar to this.
3. Keyboard - I need a good mechanical keyboard with blue cherry MX switches. Not many options available online so again need your help with this. If i decide not to go with this, I will use the CM Devastator KB
4. I bought an earlier rig for myself from SMC International in Nehru Place (this one is for my cousin). Please give me names of 2-3 other competent sellers as backup as I will be going to Nehru Place tomorrow.
5. Can i add more bling to his rig by additional LED fans and lighting inside the cabinet? Never done this so would love to hear ur thoughts on this.

Looking forward to your replies so that i may finalise this.

The reason this forum has GTX 970 in a 100K budget build is because going further up with GPU horsepower also suggests that you have a monitor with at least 1440P res or 120 Hz, buying which also overshoots the bracket one targets to keep the entire rig in.

Simply put, GTX 980 doesnt make much sense in 1080P gaming, even GTX 970 pulls off 1440P gaming pretty descently. Either you plan and gather enough money to feed that 980 with enough pixels in a good 1440P,144hz monitor or just do away with a GTX 970 and 1080P monitor and use nvidia DSR to play at higher resolution.

The same reason, you will figure why SLI will be a bad choice right now, that too with 980! Point being, you should have 2K or 4K monitor to justify the GPU capabilities, and always focus on how efficient you can get your single GPU perform , because 1 year from now, there will be better options than 980 to prove your SLI a bad investment, not to mention the scaling issues and game supports now a days.

Alright. You have a valid point there. I will go for a gtx 970 considering I am going to play on 1080p. Please help with the rest of the 5 points too

Instead of spending 50k this year, you spend 25k this year on gtx 970. next year spend 25k again for next gen mid-range example gtx 1170.

This is what full time pro gamers who min max recommend.

1.If you are looking for a good Full tower Cabinet go for ANTEC Twelve Hundred V3 - 12,250 (TheItwarez)
2.The best Mechanical Keyboard with an RGB back lit will be available in a few months - (Flipkart) (Review)
3.Check MDcomputers.in , also check this thread (Computer shops)
4.If you get the Antec cabinet there won't be any need for extra bling :lol:
