Gaming Laptop for Rs 80k ????

Hi there,

I am right now in my final year in Comp. Science Eng. I am currently learning Android and I want to replace my laptop (DELL Vostro 3500) with a new one. I want something that can give me atleast 2 to 3 years of smooth going. I would be playing a lots of games, using AfterEffects and programming also. Games i tend to play more are FIFA, Call Of Duty , GTA V etc.

I'm on a tight budget but its manageable for a good PC. my budget right now is at Rs. 80,000.

I have been doing a lot of research and finalized DELL Inspiron 15 - 7559 which is priced at almost Rs 83k. everything except GPU and Processor is upgradable.
Core i5 6300HQ,
Nvidia GTX960M,
8GB RAM(upto 16GB),
1TB Storage

I was planning to buy this until I came across Azom Exigo. They have quoted around Rs 1.17 Lacs for
Core i5 6500,
Nvidia GTX970M,
8GB RAM,
1 TB storage.
Everything in this is upgradable.

What should i do...?? Is it really necessary for me to extend by budget by Rs 40k more for Azom or should my needs be okay with DELL as of now.???

Thanks.

You won't get 970M in Dell laptops except for alienware (maybe XPS too?). However, if you get a desktop assembled for that same budget, it'll outperform every sub 90k laptop you can get in India. Seriously, that Dell laptop costs 800$~= 55k INR and they've overpriced it way too much here.

Yeah i knw that but I really need a Laptop right now. Because of travelling.
I know that i wont get 970M in a Dell. But is a 960M going to be okay ???! as of now i am a beginner in Android and AfterEffects. Will those extra 40k on a Azom be really useful for me ???

Thanks for ur reply SaiyanGoku !!

If you are okay with playing games at low - med settings @ 768p after 2.5 years, then no need to get 970M... GTX960M should run all games at smooth framerates for next 4 years (after the completion of 3 years, you might have to play games at low at 768p)

My current laptop is 3 years old & it still runs all the games smoothly. Games like CoD BO3 & AC Syndicate run at 720p low settings

960M should handle all the upcoming games of 2016 at med-high settings at 1080p

______

BTW it is the wrong thread

Thanks a lot for ur reply anupam_pb. I guess ill be okay with it, thats why i've decided to go with the Dell Inspiron. and then I'll buy Azom after saving for a year or two.

why don't you get a pc and use a 20k laptop for portable use.
20k laptops are real solid and work great.
a_k_s_h_a_y , the main problem is that i travel a lot due to my football matches and I work also on the go. So i need a laptop that will stay with me all the time. So thats why im not going for a Desktop and a Laptop.!! but it was a nice suggestion on ur part! Thanks

Its not unfair.. its the way taxes work in each countries. In Canada, its around $1399 while for us its around $1200

For the games you have mentioned, even a 30k HP would suffice if low settings isn't a problem. My hp served me as my main for 2 years, no issues, and i also used it for android development.
To cope up with next 2-3 years I think 5th gen processor and GTX 940/950 (again gaming at low settings isn't a problem) should suffice.
Asus R510J(~70k) or even lenovo z50-70(~45k) seems good enough.
Get anything with 5th gen processor and GTX 940/950 should be around 60k. Save the rest, get better machine later when you're settled.
