Freespire Anyone ???

guys ive come across a new linux distro called as "FREESPIRE"
it claims to support a huge range of file types - mp3 Windows Media,proprietary WiFi drivers, modem drivers to name a few- out of the box...

now i wud like to know if it is to be believed and worth giving a try ,,,
and is there anyone who has already tried it !!
pls do let me know ...

hmm good to know that ,,,but will it support my HUWAEI quidway 1003A modem { got this $h!+ from BSNL :( } connected to my pc via USB???

ok i got that freespire but can i install from hdd and so i don't want to post in the request thread. :) :) :) :) :) :).

I got in PC world magazine, it gives DL DVD and this month it consits of three linux distribution Slackware 10.2 Ubuntu 64-bit, Freespire 1.0 and it is good in DVD content and I think i will like Digit for its Book content but the book consists of 260 pages at 100 rs.

Sourav: Whats your system? Tell me if Freespire got installed on your pc. I tried to install Fedora2, Mandrake new version, Ubuntu, SuSe but of no use. Sometimes my keyboard didn't work or the monitor just freezes and show nothing.

ya.. N hey i still didnt get my pcworld mag this month.. Btw digit shd give out some good distros next month

it used grub at the boot of the cd,it had 4 options, one to install and other for live session and other two two i don't remember I ran it in live mode and it was working

@Blueshift, Try installing Suse 10.1 Linux in Safe Graphics Mode. By the way, what's
your PC configuration (full details)?

Is SuSe10.1 released in previous issue of Digit?

@Blueshift, as per your PC config., the onboard Graphics card is the one creating
problems!! You should always install any Linux distro in Safe Graphics Mode.
Once the installation is complete. You can install drivers for NVidia GC. You may also
need to tweak '/etc/X11/xorg.conf' file. After that things will be fine.
