Looks like Flipkart’s warehouses are not as secure as they might think as a retail box and the pricing of the next-gen Moto G aka the Moto G2 has been leaked.

In a post on Google+, developer Akshat Mittal shared a picture of the retail box of the Moto G (2014) which supposedly was shot in the Flipkart warehouse. Then he posted the prices for the two variants of the Moto G. “More information for the new Moto G on +Flipkart. Pricing: ₹11,999 for 16GB – ₹14,999 for 32GB. (Or ₹1,000 less for each) Btw, +Flipkart currently have 70,000 units for sale initially,” the second post said. The retail box clearly shows the name of the phone as Moto G, which means Motorola will not be going with a G2 or G+1 as some rumours have said.

We can guess that Mittal has been quoting the price directly off the retail unit’s box, which may or may not be the final price Flipkart sells it at. When the Moto G was launched too, there was a last minute change of retail price, but even as it stands, the Moto ‘G2′ will be offering tremendous value considering the bump up in specs.

The second-gen Moto G will replace the current model in the mid-range category. As it is, Flipkart has put the final stock of the Moto G on sale. The 2014 model is expected to have a 5-inch 720p display, an 8MP camera, which is a step above the 5MP shooter on the original G. What won’t change is the SoC; it will be a Snapdragon 400 clocked at 1.2GHz, along with 1GB of RAM. Back panel of the Moto G is expected to be swappable, although the battery is likely a non user-replaceable unit.

The second-gen Moto G will be launched at an event in New Delhi on Friday, and we will be on the spot bringing you all the live updates and first impressions from the new Moto range. .

pricing looks good for the phone may be coz of the Xiaomi factor.
