File sharing over ad-hoc

Hey guys,
I need to get my windows 7 and my macintosh (Leopard 10.5.8) on the same network for sharing files. I have tired many methods and as of now, my Windows 7 can access my macintosh desktop using ftp only. My mac can't even reach windows. Need help.
