WOW... are you?
It's been just 4 or 5 days... since i bought my new MOBO "Intel 865 GSA" that has blue Ram slots :D (it's Dual Channel Ram supporting)

But I asked for 1GB RAM (not aware of Dual thingie then... he he he)

Now since i have found out... shall i get, two identical "512*2" Sticks ?

Is it worth it ? i mean going and exchanging it...

HELP!!!

Still Shining!
Its better to keep 2*512 RAM. Incase one of them gets damaged, the system can still function with the remaining one.

your buss width gets doubled. so in case you have 400Mhz RAm then the resultant in case of dual-channel configuration would be 800Mhz.

think of it as you can have 2 sheets of paper rather than a long one. The acess time is reduced considerably.

Thanks for your help !!!

As you all suggested, went to my vendor gave him a nice SMILE :D and said can i like... Exchange this RAM stick?

He did asked why? I told him "cause bla bla bla..."
The Vendor complied (at the same time, was quite "OHH!!! really.... hmmmm")

Anyways... I have to say one thing!!! since i got that AGP card "Geforce 6800 GT" my system was freezing (both old one and this new one)

But after i have put 2 Ram of same type (hynix 400 DDR) = Dual thingie

Nothing has happened yet... (fingers crossed)

Do you think, it could have been my AGP card all the way ? Slowing and slugging my PC ?

Thanks
