1) What is your budget?
35,000 can stretch it to 40,000 but only if it is really worth it. (Will buy additional warranty for 3-4 years and have a separate budget of 6,000-8,000 for that).
2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
1) Thin and Light; 12" - 14" screen (Preferred)
2) Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen (Less Preferred but not against it)
3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?
MS Office/Google Suite, Browser web, movies and stuff. Casual usage nothing too resource-intensive.
5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for?
Couldn't care about what OS is preinstalled. Ubuntu/DOS works as long as it saves a buck.
4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
Dell >>>> Any other brand
If you suggest another brand, it must offer:-
1) Onsite Service
2) Option to buy an extended warranty for 3-4 years
6) Anything else you would like to say?
Good battery backup will great. Looking for something that will last for next 5-7 years especially considering not expecting heavy usage from this one. Should preferably have an SSD and if not then option the option to add one later on.
