Hi,

How do i use virtual dub to compress the movies on my hard drive. I mean i tried one but the file expanded from 40 mb to 400 mb ???

Perhaps u made uncompressed AVI, thats why ur filesize exploded. Goto Menu>Video>compression dialog. Choose appropriate codec from the listbox. XViD or DivX is preferred. U can compress the audio too, choose 'Full processing mode' from Audio menu, and select appropriate compression from compression submenu.
