Doubt about ASUS Nexus 7

Hello,

ASUS is selling 16/32 GB Wifi + 3G 7 inch tablets. This is exactly what Google sells under 'Nexus' brand.

So if i purchase a 7 inch tablet from ASUS instead of purchasing it from Play store, will it get direct OS updates from Google ?

If its a Nexus, it will get direct updates... doesn't matter if you buy it directly from ASUS...

But if its a cheap crappy ASUS 7" tablet (i have seen them), then it won't get updates from Google.

Only Nexus gets direct updates from Google...

You might need to flash it once though with the Play Store build of Android just like I had to with my phone. Have been getting all updates regularly since.
