Does Nvidia Card support AMD Free Sync Monitor?

Flake

Linux User
Greetings !

I am planning to buy a 32 inch monitor for Work. Almost all monitors listed on Amazon are with AMD Free Sync. I have Zotac Gaming RTX 2080Ti graphics card. I don't know much about G-Sync or AMD Free Sync compatibility. Should I buy G-Sync Monitor or any AMD Free Sync will work fine too?

Thanks !

IIRC Nvidia supports Freesync monitors since a few years ago. Though I don't know whether it works out of the box or whether something special needs to be setup to get it to work.

Nvidia GPUs can use gsync on a freesync monitor provided it is connected via DP, sadly no HDMI (unless its officially a g sync monitor with g sync module, I think).

Thanks a lot for the confirmation. I read a few articles about this today. Nvidia Cards support AMD Free Sync Monitors via DP only. Support through HDMI is for G-Sync Monitors only.

Could you please suggest any 32 inch, 4k, IPS Monitor?

Get an IPS option that you get from LG or Acer or other big brands that is within your budget. Avoid TN for sure, there are good VA panels, but for monitors without a detailed review from say rtings.com, better avoid VA monitors as well.

One option:
amazon.in/LG-Inches-3840x2160-Display-Monitor/dp/B0B2JVXN3K

Since your use case is for work related to trading(assuming based on your other thread), don't worry about G/Free-Sync, its for gaming only.
