Need to know where you are coming from. If that's say something like Windows Phone or even iOS, then you will notice some stuttering here and there. But in Android's world itself, Moto G / X or Nexus' are considered as butter, and they undoubtedly are significantly smoother and consistent than any skin.

In general Moto G won't lag, but at some point of time you will see some lags, momentarily though...... Phones running stock/near stock android won't lag in general & you can enjoy smooth performance (unlike the Samsung ones, which with passing of time lags, needing reinstall of its ROM)

That ram is a bummer, Moto X(2013)'s bummer is storage, 16 GB with no sd Card slot, will fill up in a day or two
Why do people call these phones awesome when they don't have enough storage.

When I bought my Nexus 4, i thought 16GB(13GB available) storage is sufficient, i still think it's sufficient for me as i transfer pics, vids n other unnecessary files to laptop when not needed....... But i think 16GB isn't enough anymore.... Now companies should atleast keep 32GB as base storage for phones not having SD card slot

Apple has taken a forward step with its 128GB internal storage on iPads n now iPhones, hope the industry adopts this.

because not everyone carries movies in their mobile.

My usage only involves heavy use of apps, no entertainment. There many people like me. Even 8 GB can be enough for us.
