You learn something new every day. Disney Mobile is a division of the entertainment giant that is currently a small network operator in Japan and they plan on releasing a phone under the Disney brand.

Two-timing are we, Disney?

The phone will be powered by Google’s Android operating system, which normally wouldn’t be a very big deal if not for the fact that Disney’s largest shareholder is none other than Steve Jobs. Maybe he’s too busy dealing with other stuff, but Disney Mobile is a pretty small outfit so he probably just doesn’t care too much.

Anyway, the phone will be a rebranding of the Sharp Gapapagos 003SH, which has a 3.8-inch screen that supports glasses-free 3D viewing. Aside from that, the phone boasts of a 1GHz processor, NFC support and a 9.6 megapixel camera, all this running on Android 2.2 Froyo. In addition, Disney will be bundling a Disney email address, wallpapers and other goodies like free cases along with the phone.

It’s unlikely we’ll ever see this phone hit Indian shores, but we hope it does some day.
