Read an article a long while ago that Microsoft won't give Beta versions of Windows 7, but will provide Release Candidate for Windows 7 in near future. So can u guys say what's the difference between them ???

Beta: Beta testing comes after alpha testing. Versions of the software, known as beta versions, are released to a limited audience outside of the programming team. The software is released to groups of people so that further testing can ensure the product has few faults or bugs. Sometimes, beta versions are made available to the open public to increase the feedback field to a maximal number of future users.

RC: The term release candidate refers to a version with potential to be a final product, ready to release unless fatal bugs emerge. In this stage of product stabilization (read QA cycle), all product features have been designed, coded and tested through one or more Alpha cycles with no known showstopper-class bugs.
