I am going to change my office PC with another one. I was using Mozilla Firefox to access the internet. Since i was the only person using this office machine and that too for a long period of time, i made firefox remember everything (passwords etc).

Now i will be changing my PC as i am moving to another project. I want to remove all the data that firefox would have saved anywhere on my current system. I know i can delete the passwords etc manually but checking its options and even better i simply uninstall firefox.

But once i tried uninstalling firefox and then reinstalling again thinking that it would be like fresh install with all settings reset and all the extensions gone but it did not happen and everything was restored as if i never removed firefox.

Please let me know how can i remove all traces of firefox from my computer

If you want to remove every instance of Mozilla Firefox from your system, then do as following:

1. First uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs.

2. Then delete its folder "Mozilla Firefox" from "Program Files" folder if it still exists.

3. Type "%appdata%" in RUN dialog box and press Enter. Now delete "Mozilla" folder.

4. Open regedit and delete following keys:

Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mozilla
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\mozilla.org
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins

I think it'll remove Mozilla Firefox completely from the system.

PS: If you have installed other Mozilla apps like Thunderbird, etc, then be careful while following 3rd and 4th steps.
