Defragment problem

Hi Guys,

*I am using Windows XP Home Edition SP2. It is on C drive. When I attempt to do defragment on the C drive, I observe that Box for “Estimated disk usage BEFORE defragementaion” run. But the Box for “Estimated disk usage AFTER defragementaion” does not work. I tried to solve the problem by using CCleaner Software. But the problem persists forever. My Computer does not work well. Is there any free downloadable Software to solve the problem or your idea? Its link if there be any?
*It seems that the letters like My Computer, Recycle Bin, etc., on the desktop is in dark black shaded in colour. What is the problem actually?
*Link for free WinZip and any free Internet download Manager.
*I receive a lot of e-mails from unknown persons. Is there any way to avoid it?
*Is there any way to prevent from damage,corrupt,file missing of the above-mentioned operating system during operation?

sigh...so many questions...let me try...

1. how were u xpecting ccleaner to solve ur defrag prob dude ? its a pc junk cleaner. period ! so does ur xp defragger work, i mean does it defrag ur disk ? or is the after defrag 'animation' only not working. if thats the problem, let go. else use another good defragger like system mechanic or search for a freeware at *www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_utilities.htm or at
*www.econsultant.com/i-want-freeware-utilities/
also 'my comp oes not work well' meaning what ? pls giv details.

2. shudnt be considerd a problem. use 'TweakUI' to change its colour to even PINK if u like

4. no. welcome to cyberworld. spam is part of life. just make sure u do not give ur emailid to any tomdickharry. have 2 email accounts one for ur khaass friends and other for the janata. in dataone/gmail generate less spam so do hotmail/yahoo, but in rediffmail, i tend to get a lot of spam So u decide.

5. no. just use ur xp judiciously. take care of it ... run ur av, antispy, ccleaner, defragger, etc periodicaly... this is good enuf to begin with.
