Data Recovery From Pen Dirve

I backed up some data on my pen drive and now I need that but whenever I connect that pen drive to my laptop, it says that I need to format that drive before using it. I don't want to lose the data on my pendrive so help guys.. My laptop runs Windows 7 (64-bit).

@OP - this might help you,
1. Install any data recovery software(Recuva from Piriform does the job)
2. Insert the pendrive and format it (QUICK FORMAT) when Windows prompts. Windows won't let other programs access the pen-drive unless you format it.
3. As soon as format completes, start Recuva and scan the pendirve for files (dont forget to enable deep scan in Recuva, else u might not get files). Don't copy anything to the pendrive when recuva is doing its work.
4. If u r lucky enough, u'll get your data back.
