Hi,

I am planning to upgrade my RAM. I have a single stick of Corsair Vengeance 8GB @2666Mhz.

From a performance pov, should I get 2 sticks of 8GB, or one of 16GB? Or does it not matter?
Also, should I go for 3000 Mhz or 3200 Mhz? Want to ensure no pairing issues.

Here's other details:
  • AMD Ryzen 5 2400G
  • Asus B350M-A
  • Zotac GTX 1050Ti 4GB
  • Corsair CX550

Always go Dual Channel if your motherboard supports it.
In this case it does, so 2 x 8 is always better than 1 x 16.

Thanks. Will go with 2x8GB sticks of 3200 Mhz

I understand that if I also use my existing 2666 MHz stick with the new ones, the new ones will slow down.
what combination will be better? a) use three sticks that run on 2666, or b) use only the two new sticks at 3200

I am a moderate level gamer and the existing ram stick does not have any issues.

Difference in gaming performance is noticeable between 2666MHz & 3200MHz, also with 3 sticks you don't get dual channel, so further reduction in fps.
