Corsair is playing up their Dominator series this week, announcing yesterday that they have set a ?world record? for DDR3 speeds. The company claims that the former record of 2462MHz, which was already theirs, has been bested by a new one with the modules operating at 2580MHz using 9-9-9-24 timings.
The hardware selected for the record included a Core 2 duo E8400 and an Asus ROG Rampage Extreme. It's certainly an impressive number, though not a realistic one for the everyday users. They have the results independently recorded via CPU-Z, and if you want to read more details you can do so in the official press release.
