What is the difference between Gigabyte 970A DS3 rev3.0 and Asus M5A97 R2.0
overclocking capabilities??

Q1. What is Mild OC??

Q2. How safe Can I overclock the processor with stock cooler with noteceable difference in gaming?


Q3. Which is best for future needs Mostly for Gaming With highest settings
Its my first Gaming PC rig, so I'll overclock it in future(but not a Hardcore OC!!)


I've got 2 options
EITHER
Gigabyte 970A DS3 rev3.0 with Sapphire R9 270X 2gb DDR5
OR
Asus M5A97 R2.0 with Zotac GTX 650 Ti boost 2gb DDR5


which is better??

HARD DRIVE:

MONITOR:
Dell 21.5inch S2240L

as far as overclocking is concerned, both should be same. you have to get asus m5 a97 evo r2.0 for good overclocks. ecs 970 deluxe is also good.

small increase in frequency.

some 200mhz will be possible.

get the first one. 270x offers better gaming than 650 ti boost.

Btw, Please suggest some other alternatives to Bitfenix Merc Alpha cabinet upto r3K
its design is bit boring and It doesnt even have front fan intakes!!

Hows Antec X1?? It looks good and comes in a similar price

I doubt whether the 280x will fit in the x1....I also have the 280x xfx one tho...and the lancool k57 case..

bitfenix merc alpha has option to install 2 120mm front intake fans.it doesn't have a mashed front but there is a small air intake vent in front.

But Wont it affect cooling as the vent is small??


I was thinking of getting one 120mm Led Red Front intake fan so that it would look nice and provide better airflow.

what say?


i just want it to look stylish , whether i have to change the cabinet or do some change in Merc Alpha

front intake fans are most essential for hdd cooling when you have more than 2 hdd installed one above the other kind of situation.read bitfenix merc reviews & nowhere you will find small front intake vent as a negative.in fact that small vent is more than enough for the job though absence of front mash means no led fan styling.if you want that then see some coolermaster cabinets.if design is your priority & you like antec X1 then at the cost of functionality(cable management & inability to install cpu coolers like hyper212evo) you can consider it.
