i have got a wierd problem here. whenever i run some applications xp starts dialing my dialup connection even though i disabled it in options->connectios.. i tried editing the registry but they snap back to their original values. this problem doesn't occur in other user account.

Its possible if u have Active desktop enabled... the Active desktop might be trying to access the internet... try disabling Active desktop...
Also try disabling the startup items and all non-microsoft services using msconfig utility..... in other words... perform a clean boot of ur system and see if the problem persists.... if not, then its probably one of ur startup programs that's causing the problem and u need to remove it....
