    I want to assemble a new PC.My budget is between 25K-30K.Please help me in deciding the hardware configuration of my PC

    yes it is around 8000 rupees, but even the motherboard is more expensive than the pentium 4 ones....

    My dealer is giving me the following configuration.

    Pentium D Processor
    Intel 865
    512MB-DDR-RAM(400Mhz)
    80GB HDD
    Sony DVD-Writer
    Creative Inspire 2.1
    Logitec KB & Mouse
    400W smps cabinet
    Samsung 17' inch CRT

    It is costing me around 24,000.What do u think,is it a good configuration

    @vineetrocks2005 ... Pentium D is Nuclear Reactor ... Runs Pretty Hot ... Push a Ur Budget a Bit more ... get a C2D process with a Decent mobo .. it will be better value for money

    2*512 DDR2 533 RAM
    1*80GB SATAII

    Some Of the MotherBoard Below 5K u can Consider:

    ASUS - P5LD2-VMSE
    Gigabyte - GA-945GM-S2
    Gigabyte - GA-945-MRZ

    ASUS - P5LD2-VMSE...Pretty Decent board,Value for money

    Dont Invest Heavily on a Graphics Card .. get a Mid range one,When a Good a One when DX10 Cards arrvie

    Except C2D which is the best processor & MB that i can look for.Should i go for AMD.I want a MB with Integrated Video & Sound

    If ur looking for Performance its C2D as of now,if ur on Budget ... i would a AMD X2 say 3800+ or a 4200+

    Thats OK .. with me ... Except the Processor ... i would go for a E6300 with a
    ASUS - P5LD2-VMSE.
