Compaq presario laptop windows installation problem

Hi freinds i need a urgent help from you i have trouble installing windows xp in compaq presario laptop this was actually pruchased in germany and i am using it in here india. i cannot install a windows xp english installation , it installs but after full installation it stops at the windows start up logo , if i install windows xp german version it installs proper please help me with this thanks wating for your valuable reply

Thats weird. Hope you formated the system drive...Hmm, does laptop came with any OS from company? Try using another disc of xp too in case . .
