Com ports( 9 pin & 25 pin male)

Dear all Please help me,

I am working as CNC programmer, our CNC machine programming is done on PC with old system configuration and sends machine commands through COM 2 port 25 pin male connector.
Now my problem is that the PC we are using is very old and we need to upgrade it so we purchased i5 processor based computer but this system does not have com port 2 serial(25 pin male connector), so i installed PCI add on with 25 pin male connector and computer assigned the COM3 port, but our machine does not accept com 3 port, so i configured and changed it to com2 in windows setting but our CNC machine again asks for com2 port, i think that CNC machine only detects in built com1 and com2 ports.

I dont know i made my questiion clear or not,anyone who understood it please

Please help me on this issue.

There is no solution other than what you have done AFAIK.

is there any motherboard(core 2, i3. i5 processor) which has on board 2 com ports.

NO newer board have 2 COM port AFAIK. I might be wrong, as there are some OEM boards in the market whose specification I don't know. Best option for you is to go to market & tell your requirement & see if any board comes into the picture or not.
