I have an AMD athlon processor,2 GHZ,256 DDR ram,20 GB hard disk; for a long time I have been speculating on buying a graphics card but actually never ended buying up one.Can you please suggest a decent graphics card ( can play half life II,max payne II,if possible doom III, etc),within a budget of Rs.1500 - Rs.2000/-.[/quote] :?: :?:

On that budget, you wont get a decent card. even the low - end nvidia FX5200 is around 2500..

Just go for XFX 5200 128MB 64bit
 Rs 1850

Same card ASUS brand with 256MB 128bit costs
 Rs 2800

 go for XFX 5200
It will rock u for some days. Then throw it in dust bin.

also try XFX 6200 128MB 64bit
 Rs 3500

Always get 128Bit cards. :!:

These will become worthless within next 12 months or so...
(Or, should I get a gaming console instead, can't keep pace with nVidia...!!!:) )

Hmm.....If you can go a bit higher, the old Radeon 9600's (which have good performance) should still be available for about the same price as GeForce 6200....~Unsure~
