Hi all,

My sister wanted a laptop to primarily read e-books, blog , and watch movies. Since almost every computer is powerful enough for these, I wanted to know how cheap i can go with a 15" screen.

So, any suggestions? Cheapest and durability would be nice. ( nice i won't be around to fix it for her )

Typing on the Asus EEE is really difficult. Get the EEE only if portability is needed. Also, he mentions 15".

I would suggest something from Compaq or Acer.

go for compaq only if the service center at ur city are fine...i've seen that compaq/HP service centers at many cities (including mine) are not fine

thanks for the suggests, keep them commin.

yes, 14-15" screen is a must because it will be primarily used as a desktop, and furthermore she reads a lotta books on it, so a big screen helps here.

Can anyone help me with the durability issue of Acer / Compaq laptops? it seems they are the cheapest out there.

I live in delhi, so service centers should hardly be an issue.

There is a Lenovo 14.1" laptop available with Celeron processor, 512MB RAM, 80GB HDD, DVD Writer for 19k all inclusive. Seems like the best option.
