My error is different than that. Tho i'l ltry that also, thanx.

But, just now i realized that when i tried to run regedit.exe, even then i got a similar error !! I think sommand prompt, regedit and maybe something more has been disabled due to some trojan. How can i check if these things have been disable or no?

Problem solved!
It *was* some trojan that had put cmd.com, regedit.com, ping.com, tracert.com etc files. So my cmd.exe, regedit.exe etc files are intact.
And i think those cmd.com etc were not compatible with XP, lol so those viruses cudnt run.
