I had recently created an ubuntu disc.As my internal drive got damaged ,i am using an external dvd drive. When I tried to boot from the disc inorder to install ubuntu,I couldn't see the external dvd drive or usb device in the boot order(which I got by hitting f12 during startup). So i am not being able to boot from the disc and install ubuntu. Please help me.I am using a Dell Vostro 1014 notebook. Will it need an upgrade of bios(currently Dell Inc. AO2) to get the usb dive from the boot order. If so please give me the exact link from where i can upgrade bios for my system.Or are there trustworthy boot managers which can do the job.I tried to install plop boot manager but it was available as a zip file and I couldn't find the installation file.pls help friends.
