Well, yes that is the question.

I've: an ADSL Airtel connection. Which is a static IP. It connects to my laptop by cable.
An HP laptop with wi-fi

I want: to use my laptop as a wi-fi router so that the broadband connection can be shared between other devices.

I don't want: advice of buying a wi-fi card/dongle (?). I know it. Give me the other solution.

//kalpik, yes...its for that......

well it did not work...

somehow Galaxy S is not able to find that newly created wi-fi network...

It finds other open networks in my society but not that.

Hmm.. I think you will have to wait for Cyanogenmod for this phone.. Cyanogenmod ROM have support for connecting to ad-hoc wifi networks..
