is it possable that a pc can run with a faulty ram , or a faulty moyherboard..?
few days before i had a problem that my comp was restarting automatocally
somebody told me that ur mobo is faulty or it is a problem of ram. but now it is running well, i mean not restarting automatically, if it was really the prob of ram or mobo, thn how could it recover itself.

If its working fine then it may be that it was restarting automatically because the option of restarting while a error was enabled.

If you use Windows XP try this ...right click My Computer>>select advanced tab>>click settings under startup and recovery and check whether the option of Automatic Restart is checked or not.

If its not then it maybe due to hardware trouble. If that's the case you should get your RAM and Mobo checked by a engineer. Because if you don't take precaution your PC can blow up.

dunno exactly what happens when the motherboard is faulty(depends) but as of ram, you'll get constant bsods, every second application you try to run will crash with or without showing wierd errors and you'll get file copy errors while installing almost any os.

Now to find what type of errors PC generates disable automatic restart option and wait. Next time any error comes one can check what's the error and due to what it was caused. If the errors are not appearing now it does not seem to be a hardware problem.
