Buying a laptop from the USA???

I was wondering whether it is a good idea to get myself an ASUS laptop (N61Jq-X1) or an MSI (GE600) or Gateway(NV7901u) laptop from USA.
Then I would be able to get Core i7 and ATi 5730 at just abt 53k.
But, I am worried that I wont get any proper Service and Support because of unavailability of the model in India by ASUS.
Also, would buying an AMC(Annual Maintainece Contract) from a Private company be any useful.

Please Suggest.

AMC is a good move. But buying ACER,perhaps not.

well ASUS provides international warranty on laptops as I know about it...moreover ASUS does have a service center in Bangalore (and in Delhi & Mumbai too) but I have no idea about Kolkata! so to avail the warranty you have to travel to any of these cities...lol...

Interestingly you are right about Acer! I have an Acer laptop and I regret everyday.

Actually I am now Studying in Hyderbad, and will be there for 4 more years, so even if ASUS have service centers here, no probs.

Anyway, does anyone know when a USB 3.0 laptop going to be launched in India?
