Buying a GFX Card

I would like to buy a new card for my system in a short time.My budget for the card is 4k-5k.Can anybody recommend a card in this budget.I would like to use this card for casual gaming and HTPC.

My system config as follows

AMD X2 3600+

ASUS M2NPV-VM mobo

2GB DDR2

80 GB HDD

19 inch viewsonic lcd monitor.

400W PSU

The other two are expensive compared to the 9600GSO. 3650 is only ~1.5k cheaper but you have a good performance drop. 3850 is quite ahead in budget, and at the same time it somewhat ties to the 9600GSO in performance.

So get the Palit 9600GSO 384MB Sonic.

I guess Mercury 8600GT 256MB GDDR3 is the way to go.

But yes, he can underclock the 9600GSO to make it work and later ehen he gets a new PSU he can reset the clockspeed to normal.

Upgrade. Get a cheapo 500W.

cheap 500W PSU are as cheap as 500 bucks

Yep. the CM460W will be 1.9k.
Cheapo PSU's do work good enough for slight OCs even tho they arent recommended. and anyways he aint gonna OC much.
