Buy 4k monitor or TV?

I've two Dell monitors, S2417DG for gaming and S2216H as secondary for general purpose. I'm thinking of selling S2216H for a 4k monitor/TV. S2216H even though slightly smaller in size and resolution is much better for watching content since it's IPS. But I need something bigger for watching netflix, movies etc.

I'm thinking of an IPS monitor with 4k and HDR support, 60hz (not playing on this monitor), response time not that important. A TV seems economically better option, but I don't want really big since I'll be keeping both displays at my PC desk. Could you guys suggest me something around 24-27"? In the past I've not liked hooking TV as monitor but is it better now with newer models? I'll be doing occasional browsing etc as well so not sure if buying a TV or monitor is better?

Budget is a bit flexible. I'd like to spend as little as possible, but 30k-40k if worth.

Great monitor for sure.

Monitors usually have better colors for professional work than a TV. But for just Netflix & movies, you can get a bigger panel going towards TVs. There are good reviews about Vu Premium 4K TVs.

I did see this one while looking, but saw several comments that 400nits is too low brightness level for HDR. I don't know much about this. Has anyone seen this in person, to comment if it's good with HDR?

You won't get higher nit values in this price range.Furthermore this only matters if you are watching 4k hdr content which is not as much widely available as usual 1080p/4k content. For all practical purposes 400nits is good enough.

My laptop has a 300 nits screen and I never use it above 40% brightness, even in day time. My viewing distance would be around 50-60 cm. 400 nits is low for HDR but for normal usage, it is too high.

There are TVs which doesn't even hit 400 nits & have HDR10 certification. For good HDR, you need full-array local dimming as well along with high brightness. Forget getting those even in a 70k TV, especially FALD.

Generally, 400nits is more than enough for indoor usage. My laptop's max brightness is 350nits & I rarely use it at that value.

Would not recommend UK/UD series of LG Monitors, they have certain corner going red issue which will come up after 7-8 months of usage.
Actually its an issue with Panel itself, and Dell, AOC, HP monitors with same panel also have the same issue.

I had my 27UD68P replaced with a UK850W because of it, which is essentially the same panel with HDR.
