Hi friends,
Good day!
I am trying to build a budget gaming pc build for a friend of mine. He hasn't done much gaming before and just getting started.
Not expecting to play AAA games at high settings/high fps anyways.

Answering the questions :
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run?

Ans:
Code:
Browsing, watching youtube , watching video/listening to music.
Office work using PDF, Microsoft Word, some excel work.
Mostly document reading and editing.
Gaming - Mostly strategy, rpg games like Elder scrolls online, diablo 3, age of wonders 3,
and few action/fps games like GTA V, Far Cry 5 as long as these run in Medium settings in a playable frame rate should be fine.
Basic Expectation is play games released in the last few years and not looking to play latest and greates games coming out.
Very casual gamer - maybe 2-3 hours a week max.

2. What is your overall budget?
Ans:
Code:
Upto 30k INR, Preferably under 25K INR

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:
Code:
No.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:
Code:
Windows 10 Home

5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans:
Code:
1 TB should be enough. I am thinking a 256GB SSD bootdrive and a 2 TB HDD?

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans:
Code:
Yes need a Monitor.
I think a 21" - 27” Monitor and Full HD should be plenty

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:
Code:
None. Need to setup the entire thing including keyboard, mouse, power supply etc.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:
Code:
Right away / asap

9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:
Code:
He hasn't built a PC before but might be able to do with some guidance watching youtube videos.
Worst case might need an assembler to do it.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:
Code:
Kolkata,
Yes open to purchase from online reputed sellers.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:

Code:
Thanks for your assistance :)

30K is very low budget for a gaming PC, especially with a monitor and 2 types of storage devices. Far Cry is really a far cry at this budget. If you can increase your budget or get a 2nd hand GPU, then
intel config could be :
Intel 10100F - 8.5K (on PrimeABGB)
H410 motherboard - 5-6K ; Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, AsRock, anything would do.
8GB DDR4 RAM - 3.5K
SSD 500GB - Crucial MX500 - 5.5K

Get external or internal HDD if you need more storage. So this comes around 24K.

Remaining whatever money you are willing to spend, do it for GPU. A 1050Ti or RX570 will run Far Cry at low-medium settings will get you around 50 fps. Older games should go above 60 fps. So either get a 2nd hand 1050Ti or go for a new one. New one is coming around 12K which I know is sad.

Unless you want to compromise even more on gaming part, go with AMD
AMD 3400G - 13.8K (on Vedant)
A520 Mobo - AsRock 5.5K (on Vedant)
and add RAM SSD mentioned above from intel config.
That will cost you around 29K

And then comes monitor, get whatever 1080p 24" IPS panel. Samsung, LG, BenQ or anything else you like. On amazon you can get decent 24" monitor for 8K.

I encourage other members to post a config for this budget. And also comment on the config and suggest changes I have posted above.
