This is my first post in the forum. Hope I'm not doing any mistake . I have also posted this same query in eightforums but nowadays I don't seem to get a quick response from there. I have the dell inspiron 15r 7520 SE. I am planning of installing an mSATA drive into the laptop(I'll have to change the daughterboard and in the process of doing the same). So my question is what is the process of making my laptop boot from the mSATA drive and if I'm successful in doing so, will I be getting the genuine windows 8 OS that came pre-installed with my laptop? Thanks.

As you are basically just changing the HDD so yes you'll be able to install the OS you got with Laptop without any problem. Process is simple like you do in HDD. :)

does you laptop even have an M2 NGFF slot?
without it you cannot use the mSATA drive.
moreover the unit should have native support for mSATA. Without it, you will be just waiting money.
