Black Screen with Curser on Windows 7 64 Bit Enterprise edition SP1

I have recently put Windows 7 64 Bit Enterprise edition SP1 on XP 32 Bit SP3 (Dual Boot) On my old PC.After completing installation ,I am getting a black screen with a curser (which I am able to move).I did a re-installation still facing same problem.
Details:
Ram-4GB DDR2 667 MHz
MB-ASUS M2NPV-VM
Processor-AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000+

1. You waited long enough after installation?
2. Your mouse is not bad?
3. Your source of Windows 7 is not the culprit?
