Depends on what you want. The comparisons are a bit difficult to make. Coz the architectures of the two are different. But on ratings AMD X4 620 is pretty awesome processor. Hefty overclocker! Cheaper. If you just want to go b y stats,l this review shows that it thumps E8400 by a long shot!

Really? How so may I ask? What parameters are you considering?

The E8400 is great for gaming due to a higher clock speed, but the Athlon II X4 620 is a quad core processor, so when all games in the future are multi core optimised, the 620 will be the winner. Besides, look at the price. 8400 is close to 9k or so while the X4 620 is for 5.5k! The E8400 is a part of an outgoing architecture with no future upgradability at all, while AMD's AM3 socket will have future support at least for the next year or two.
