Pixel 2 XL(40k), S8/S8+(31/36k) & LG G7(30/36k) have the best camera in this price segment & all of them were on sale till a few days back.

Wait for next major sale if you want or grab S8+ or G7. S8 is a great choice if you want something compact otherwise G7 & Pixel 2 XL are better with Pixel having a better camera, although wide angle lens of G7 is helpful as well.

Google Pixel 2 XL vs Samsung Galaxy S8 vs LG G7 ThinQ - Visual phone size compare

Android Pie is the last update for S8, might be last for G7 as well (if G6 doesn't get Pie) whereas Pixel 2 XL will get Q.

OP 6T is a good phone but with Pixel 2 XL & S8+ going under 40k in sales, I see no point in buying it. S8 has better front & rear cameras compared to OP 6T. Since gaming isn't your priority, S845 vs S835/Exynos equivalent doesn't matter a bit in normal usage.

Sony & Apple are just expensive for what they offer, not worth it.
