Based on features the gigabyte one..it has everything including SATA 3 and USB 3.0..handles overclocking pretty well..
Similar offering from asus are p7p55d-e deluxe or pro not lx..
Msi gd65 doesn't have the 2 features..gud overclocker though..

P55A-UD3R @9.8k
MSI P55-GD65 @8.5-9k
ASUS P7P55D-E LX@9K

if SLI/CF then - Gigabyte GA P55A UD4P @ 11.5k
otherwise - Gigabyte GA P55A UD3R @ 9.8k

both are not available.. need to order and will take arnd 20days..
no plan for Multiple GPU too..

so basically searching a mobo which can be overclocked easily and has dual LAN, or USB3.0 or both..
so jst shortlisted 3 mobo with similar price range..

has anyone used any Asus P7P55 or MSI P55 motherboard?

p7p55d-e deluxe or pro both are very costly i think..

do u know MSI P55A-GD65 price or availability?

@blackhole Naah..msi produce gud boards..the gd65 is a very good board..a few had some problems with the firmware but overall its a decent board..

@pulkit
where do u live??smc has ud3r available..it does not have dual LAN..
For dual LAN see MSI GD85 or ASUS p7p55de deluxe..both around 11k

the msi gd65 doesn't have dual LAN or SAT A 3 or USB 3.0 and is priced around 8k

check their websites to get detail of each boards..and if u don't like reading much check the pics(i/o panel) on the sites or newegg.com for dual LAN or usb 3.0

if u r going to upgrade ur rig(GPU) in next 2 year go for mob which support dual GPU.
after upgradation u can use new and old gpu.

yeah i have done dat alot.. the model which has dual LAN or usb3.0 is either costly or not available

among those 3 models which one is good in service and support?
i notices one thing dat 1600Mhz RAM are supportted by ASUS mobo only and oders supports RAM 1600MHZ(OC) ?? is this right?

@vav - no such plans buddy.. will hardly spend money after this upgradation..

Yup it'r right..but u will have to change the bclk anyway if u want ur mem to run at 1600 mhz no matter which board it is..
Reason is that i5 support RAM at 1333 at stock(bclk is 133 and SPD multiplier 10)
so for 1600 the bclk must be 160 mhz..

U didn't mention ur budget..i would say go for MSI gd85 if luking for dual LAN..
If that is not possible go with the gigabyte ud3r(no dual LAN as mentioned earlier)

and except MSI gd65 all the boards have usb3.0 and SATA 3

if the boards aren't available buy online..don't compromise on the board..

Clear cmos button is very handy..
Say, if u mess with some BIOS setting and the system doesn't boot.. Pressing the button will override all the settings to default and the system would run fine..
Sp-dif is only useful when having a home theatre system with the big speakers and evrything..don't know about in detail..

Just checked the Asus site and the p7p55D evo or deluxe don't have USB 3.0..
go for P7P55D-E evo or deluxe they have all the things you need...
You live in Delhi right???go to smc and inquire.

Yes the major thing is availability and make sure u get the p7p55d-e model of evo instead of p7p55d..and the gigabyte ud3r is good too but it does not have dual lan and cmos button

so overall spec wise both are same.. Asus has clear cmos button and dere is an alternative too(jumpers),,,
one is having USB3.0 and another one has dual Lan..

so reliability and performance wise is ASUS comparable to gigabyte or not?

dont know whether p7p55d-e evo is available in india too or not.. i can only ask in NP,delhi
