Go for Adobe Premiere CS 5.5. Its the best according to me

Yeah, Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas Pro, both are best. But Cost a BOMB.
Those are better only you can afford it.

But I don't think there are "Best" HD video editors in freeware category.
