BD/DVD player with mkv xvid and srt subtitle

I need a player to attach to my sony led & logitech z906.

want to play xvid,mkv,mp4 with downloaded subtitles. would be great if it can upscale dvd to hd.

which player should i buy ?

or should i use my pc to play videos to tv through hdmi or something and sound through the z906???

it would be better to use your pc to play videos. no format issues and upgradable also. you can also connect 5.1 analogue out from your pc to z906. else u may need dts/dd compatible receiver for decoding surround audio. so anytime, my vote goes for pc.

z906 wont decode dd/dts itself ?

oohh..okie..logitech z906 will decode dd/dts tracks and has optical input. So you can go for a media player with optical out.

what's your budget according to which can refer some media player.

i am considering it as, it is a BD, supports upscale and plays mkv. but dont know if it displays subtitle. and i am not sure about its quality . it is phillips.

SONY DVP-SR700HP
it got upscaling. doesnt play hd files and mkv. doesnt sure about subtitle. but sony, i think, is trustworthy.

philips one is alluring as it is 5k
