I played Batman Arkham City by mounting an image in the virtual drive. It worked perfectly until I installed Windows8 RP. Now it doesn't accept it and displays 'please insert original disc instead of backup 1000'. I have my save files and don't wish to start the game all over again. What should I do to use that backup image again?

I think save-games are in My Documents and not on disk. And they are GFWL specific too afaik.

Yup if haven't backed up your save files and formatted the drive then your save files are gone for good. 
The problem isn't with the save-games. They are all good. What the problem is that the game on running shows the message requesting to insert the original disk instead of the backup that I was using (which used to work fine). I don't have any original disk as such. How do I fix this problem of that message been displayed?
