Average Life Expectancy of A Laptop

First time laptop user in here (Surprised?? )

Would like to know the average life expectancy of a laptop. I posed the same question in other notebook related forum and all the so-called experts over there are of the opinion that it is max two to three years..

It is really that low? BTW am investing on a Dell Studio 1555.

Office use. Extensive use of Office Suite for creating presentations and jotting down reports.

Maybe a bout of game occasionally.

Minimal usage of the laptop, as i have two other PCs in the house.

it seems that u do not use a laptop for more time,

so ur notebook should works well for almost 7 to 8 years with normal condition without any degradation in power consumption, and performance.

However it depends on ur usage to, i.e. maintenane, file organisation, battery charging, dust, moisture etc everything counts the life of an electronic equipments

and I must say if u check these things regularly, it will work well for almost 15 - 20 years

I remember when my uncle bought a laptop

10 years still working well
