As few members here might be knowing i have purchased Logitech Z-5500 along with my new PC.
At present iam on onboard audio(SPDIF). But i was looking at Auzentech Xplosion 7.1.Its seems to be having interesting features such as DDS live, DTS Connect etc.
What i want to know is ; Is this(Auzentech Xplosion) Soundcard Worth the Money?

Just for info, here goes my new PC config:
E8400 @ 3.0Ghz
Abit IP35-E(It has SPDIF and OPTICAL OUT)
2GB x 1 DDR2 800 Transcend
XFX 9600GT
etc....

So will there be a BIG difference in Audio quality with Auzentech Xplosion over
onboard audio?

All put together: Should i go for it or not?

anyday a dedicated soundcard outperform onboard sound.

I still use my old day sb live 5.1 value on vista instead of crappy realtek HD audio.

Have you configured everything properly via the Sound Card's Control Panel? Have you even chosen the sound card as the source?

Thats where i have doubt! The settings are as follows;
System Input: 2 CH
S/PDIF: DTS Interactive
DTS NeoPC: OFF
7.1Virtual Speaker Shift: OFF

Everything else at default. Are these settings correct?

confused

Evolving Rapidly...
i read in PCW, sum1 asked a simlar ques. and they said "no dedicated snd card doesnt make a difference".
bcoz nowadays onboard audio itself is very advanced.

i have a intel 815i, and mind you soundblaster makes a huge difference.

they do make a huge difference infact.

get some 5.1 channel movie or audio songs and listen to them, you will feel the difference.Real use is in the games which have inherent 5.1ch\7.1 ch audio.

But you need to have top-quality audio hardware like speakers, headphones, and connectors\wires.this is not a cheap hobby.:|
