Also check this: ARK | Intel® Coreâ„¢ i3-530 Processor (4M Cache, 2.93 GHz)

It states your processor supports 64 bit(The one under "Instruction set")

In general, every modern day processor supports 64 bit OSs. You don't have to worry about compatibility.

While it's good that people didn't troll the new guy by saying, "Just install the 32 bit OS twice to convert it into 64 bit", I think OP should also consider the reason for upgrading to a 64 bit OS.
AK HIL: I hope you know that the only benefit of having a 64 bit OS is that you can use more than 4 GB of RAM and can work on files more than 4 GB.
If you think 64 bit OS will make your PC double fast than a 32 bit OS then you will be mistaken.

So think about the need for you to upgrade to 64 bit and don't do it just because "other people have done it".

And yea.. welcome to the forum.

I have previously installed the 64-bit version of an operating system with relevant drivers on numerous configurations, be it, Intel based or AMD based. The said configurations have usually sported 2GB of RAM, but my purposeful intention of doing so, was to give every user the flexible liberty to upgrade the RAM, if he/she chose to do so in the future.

Was it a wrong/bad practice on my part?
