Some initial rumours don't paint a good pic for Ryzen 7000 vs 12th gen, esp single-core performance. So maybe they fear 13th gen release.

Right now AMD CPUs are good for only those who have an existing AM4 mobo. Else Intel CPUs are just better even with price cuts for Ryzen 5000. R5 5600 is an ok deal at 15-16k to go against i5 12400F at 14k, but the latter has the advantage of upgradeability to 13th gen. R7 5700X is 25k, but i7 12700F at 27k is just a much better choice overall. The i3 12100 doesn't have any answer from AMD.
