AMD Athlon64 or AMD opteron?

Hey guys i wanted to go for an AMD Athlon64 3200+,and here i am getting it but the shop vendor says that he will be getting a AMD opteron 2.0GHZ,939 socket,which is better than 3200+, within a week and has the same price as the athlon64 3200+.So what do u think...is an opteron 2ghz,s939 better that a 3200+,2ghz,s939?
The options i have are:
1.AMD Athlon64 3200+(winchester core)
2.AMD Athlon64 3500+
3.AMD Opetron,2ghz,s939

All the above three affordable for me,i want it mainly for gaming.The price between athlon64 3200+/opteron 2ghz and a athlon64 3500+ is about 3000 bucks.Now pls help me out,and its urgent...pls

Ok here's my suggesion,

If ur overclocking then opteron will be a good choice and spend that extra money on vid card...but if u are running ag stock speeds then Athlon 3500+ will outperform it...Athlon 3200+ is not a choice...BTW what's the price of opteron.

Also tell me where r u getting it...and when..

If i have to choose from th 3200+ and opteron and use them at the stock speed then which one would give better performance?
I am getting the opteron here in hyderabad itself but will take a week's time and price offered is around 9500/-

as far as I know, Opetron doesn't come in Socket 939, besides it's a server CPU

better got for 3200+ Venice or 3500+ Venice

To correct you...Opterons do come on s939....

Opteron 144 is 1.8Ghz 1Mb L2
Opteron 146 is 2.0 Ghz 1Mb L2
Opteron 148 is 2.2Ghz 1Mb L2
Opteron 150 is 2.4Ghz 1Mb L2
Opteron 152 is 2.6Ghz 1Mb L2

As far as ur question I've answered it..
Go for Opteron 146.

It has more L2 Cache then the venice, so it will have a better performance, It has a 1Mb L2 cache whereas the venice has 512Mb L2 and that's the cheapest way to get San Diego...so go for it...

Another thing i forgot to mention

Opteron s939 are not on store in US yet, so i seriously doubt that he will get it in a weeks time...it can take like..about a month..
