Amd athlon x2 260 vs x3 2.9ghz

Hi...i have an amd x2 260 ocd to 3.8ghz. . .its 1year old. . .i have an option to sell it and buy a 3 year old amd athlon x3 2.9ghz with that money. . .my purpose is gaming. . .should i go for it??

It won't add much. Being 3 year's old I'm not sure how good a idea its to get it as owner has used it a lot.

You will get performance improvement for sure but see if you find a second hand Phenom II x4 or even a Athlon x4. That would be more of a better upgrade.
