Aircel one of the small telecom operator by share is set to shutdown it's services. According to Economic times , Aircel has applied for to be announced "Bankrupt" with National Company Law Tribunal(NCLT) on Wednesday. The operator has a strong presence in south india and has about 80 million subscribers. Trai has asked aircel to allocate Unique Porting Code (UPC) to it's subscribers to facilitate easy migration to other network.
Aircel services were disrupted about 65% due to problem with its Tower sharing company and has also been facing financial crisis due to the price ware in telecom sector. According rumours, the company might shut it's service by April 2018. Recently Tata Docomo another small share holder in the industry sold it's entity to airtel due to price war and it's agreement dispute NTT Docomo of Japan.
